You have to watch the draw stops to see when you're there.
The other way to do it is put a scale between the bowstring and the winch cable. You can watch the weight on the scale as it increases through the draw force curve and then drops into the valley. You then slowly turn the winch watching for the weight to once again increase on the back side of the valley. Then you know you're getting against the wall.
